Let The Day Star Arise
Full Counsel Revelation
What False Teachers Won't Tell You
The apostle Paul declared to the Ephesian "overseers" the full "counsel of God", and for "three years ceased not to WARN every one night and day with tears" (Acts 20:28-32). He was intense with jealousy for their continued spiritual welfare. The inspired and vigilant apostle prophetically charged these leaders to "watch", because "grievous wolves" FROM WITHIN were going to "arise" and distort the original Gospel. This warning is in effect for the New Testament period, that is, until Jesus Christ returns. As the only antidote to doctrines of devils and dec
ievers, Paul committed the Ephesian elders to "the word" (Acts 20:32).
Jesus told religious leaders that the proof of their relationship with God was their adherence to His words (Jn. 7:16-19; 8:47; 18:37; Is. 8:20). The apostle whom Jesus loved had no greater joy than when those he was overseeing walked in God's truth (3 John 4). Tragically though, the heart of God revealed in His written Word, is rather foreign to many leaders in the Body of Christ today. They have consequently been deceived in their hearts, and misleading in their teachings. Because they do not possess the fear of God, these blinded men are not obeying God's commands to "Study to show thyself approved unto God", "Preach the word..." and to "Feed the church of God" (2 Tim. 2:15; 4:2; Acts 20:28). They have omitted to give themselves "continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word" and are therefore blinded (Acts 6:4; Ps 119:105). As was foretold by Amos the prophet, this failure has caused "A famine in the land...of hearing the words of the Lord." (Amos 8:11)
While congregating, countless believers are placed on an involuntarily truth-fast because of the folly of many leaders. Today, conditions are as they were in the days of Hosea the prophet:
"For the Lord hath a controversy (dispute) with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land...My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children (congregants; future)." Hosea 4:1,6
The gross failure in the personal lives of many of our shepherds has turned them over to deceiving spirits which have blown various winds of error into their destitute vessels. Tragically, these blinded leaders have misplaced loyalties and teachings. What is transpiring in epidemic proportion in Christendom under the leadership of morally spineless pastors is frightening. Divine substance is absent from their lives. Many of them are not strengthened by God's Spirit and Word (Eph. 3:16,20). Their empty messages and lack of spiritual power are telling! Regrettably, only a few are truly crucified with Christ, thus living in resurrection power. In the absence of God's truth, error is afforded ample place. Because many have forsaken the Word of God and prayer, they have been overtaken by falsehood. They have "departed from the faith." By their neglect they have become dwelling places for "doctrines of devils" (1 Timothy 4:1).
Make no mistake, when a person or organization makes light of the written Word of God, he is then turned over by God to the enemy to be deceived and ultimately destroyed (Proverbs 13:13). Consider this critical spiritual truth:
"And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
The numerous pulpit teachings which scream for want of Biblical content and depth, meet with no resistance in many parts of the church and can be linked directly to Satan's intensifying plan against the work of God in the earth (Rev. 12:12). The one who will keep his soul to the end must realize that the full-fledged scheme of the enemy is to distort or withhold the true image of God through men, by adding to and subtracting from God's initial account of Himself. To beguile, the enemy must alter the original content of God's Word. (see Gen. 2:17,3:4) Beware, Satan's assault comes in cleverly disguised packages. Jesus cautioned:
"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening (devouring; extortioning) wolves." Matthew 7:15
Paul further alerts us to the plaguing proportions of fraudulent undercurrent in the ministry when he states:
"For we are not as MANY, which corrupt (pervert) the word of God." 2 Corinthians 2:17
Note here that the Holy Spirit, through the pen of Paul, uttered that there were already "many" in the ministry perverting the Word of God. If this was occurring in the first century church, just think for a moment of the time (20 centuries) that the enemy has had to twist minds and propagate error since then, hence you might readily conclude that our day will be more treacherous than Paul's. Is there not a cause to sound the alarm for - due to the pillaging of the image of the Almighty in the hearts of His people, because we have coarsely neglected His Word?! Do we really know Jesus Christ? Is He being revealed in our hearts? Line upon line, precept upon precept through His Word? (Isaiah 28:9-10)
The disciple of Jesus must tend with vigilance to the safe keeping of his heart and mind. He must set and keep his eyes upon the Word of God. (Prov. 4:20-22)
The true believer must be mindful of his enemies tactics and brood constantly over his blood-redeemed soul, ready to smite with holy vengeance all seeds that would corrupt pure doctrine. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Since words paint pictures upon the canvas of our minds and hearts, we should be selective as to what we allow our minds to feed upon. For example, it is imperative that we refuse those teachers who conveniently avoid Jesus' message to "Take up thy cross daily and follow", instead pandering to fleshly lusts. (Romans 1:18-32;16:17-18; 1Tim. 6:3-5; 2 Tim. 4:1-4).
- "CEASE, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge." Proverbs 19:27
O' what a shameful and vain perplexity that we are daily, on radio, TV, and from pulpits, pummeled with such hollow messages void of divine wealth from the holy Scriptures! How tragic in light of 2 Timothy 3:16-4:4!!!
In early America, men like Jonathan Edwards preached fiery messages about the blazing arrows of God's holy judgment which were aimed at the wicked and soon to be drunken with the blood of all unrepentant sinners. Like the preaching of Jesus Christ and John the Baptist,
in earlier days hell was declared boldly to be the eternal judgment of the Almighty upon the wicked. Multitudes hastened to repentance in the fear of God as their iniquity was exposed under the holy lamp of God's law (Gal. 3:24). Why so little true repentance now? Simple! Our leaders have conveniently defaulted in declaring the full counsel of God, namely the law of God which brings sinners to Christ! (see Galatians 3:24; 1 Timothy 1:7-11) Powder-puff pulpiteers have traded the preaching of the law and the cross for persecution-proof, ear-tickling sermonettes conduicive to the acceptance of men, while they build their own kingdoms. This is the spirit of antichrist. In their sin-patronizing messages there is no convicting, eternal substance present to change lives! The apostle Paul said that these deceivers are "the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly (sinful appetites), and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things." (Phil. 3:18-19)
In the American church we have created a god who is a love-only deity who somewhere along the way lost his justice and judgment attributes. We are not beholding "the goodness AND severity of God", only the goodness, and therefore have created in the minds of God's people the image of a false god. (Exodus 20:3-4; Proverbs 11:1) According to these abominable omissions, the God of holy wrath no longer exists! This of course, is in blatant denial of Scripture (Mal 3:6; Matt. 10:28; Luke 12:5; Acts 5:1-11; Rom 1:18-20; 1 Cor. 10; Rev 20:10-15).
When asked to comment on Christianity in America, in an article printed in the Dallas Morning News, Richard Owen Rodgers, president of International Awakening Ministries, stated;
"We're living in a biblically illiterate society...I would say it has occurred because the church has become increasingly careless over the last 40 years or so in proclamation. It's dealt more with surface issues than solid biblical truths."
Let it be known that deceivers are only given place by people, namely those who have itching ears, that is, they desire to hear the message that justifies their unpurged sin.
There seems to be 2 Biblical causes for epidemic deception:
1) False Shepherds in places of leadership in the Body of Christ. See Jer 23; Is 9:16; 56:10-12; Ez 34; Matt. 7:16-23; Phil. 3:17-19; 1 John 4:1; Rom. 16:17-18....
2) People who claim to be or start out to be of God, then, in their hearts, turn from Him. See Romans 1:21-32; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12; 2 Timothy 4:3...
"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord." Amos 8:11
The God-fearing need see the extreme necessity for line upon line, precept upon precept Biblical teaching revealing the true image of the One God who is the Maker and Sustainer of all life. We, the current administration, have fallen down on the job. We have not upheld, as His faithful stewards, the oracles that He left to us. We have tolerated the desecration of the holy through our woeful neglect of His "express image" (Heb. 1:3), unveiled in Scripture. We must repent. In God we will find the unction to begin a full-scale study and declaration of His holy Word, just as that great apostle did. (Acts 20:20,27)
We should daily thank God, pray for, and strengthen the genuine men and women of God, who are at war for the souls of men - "Holding forth the word of life." (Phil. 2:16) We must realize that Jesus warned of multitudes of deceivers. He said:
"MANY false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive MANY." Matthew 24:11
We've been invaded from within! There are numerous false prophets peddling distorted teachings that are deceiving the undiscerning. False doctrines are those teachings which misrepresent God. They offer something other than what He contextually said about Himself in His Word. This is why we must learn the truth and be on guard at all times! In contrast to the counterfeit, God's true ministers soundly and relentlessly proclaim the incomparable Christ, just as He is revealed in the original account. Let it be known though, that clever deceivers who distort the truth, will not be identified nor escaped by the idolater (one who has something else that is more important than God in his life). See 1 Cor.11:19. However, God does reward the diligent, wholehearted seeker, with His discernment (Matt. 7:15,20; 2 Timothy 2:15; Heb. 5:14; 11:6; Rev. 3:18).
All must be put to the Biblical acid test. (1 Jn 4:1-6) The believer must never judge messages or ministers by what he feels is right or wrong, but by what God's Word says! Make not the fatal mistake of judging ministers against other modern day ministers (2 Cor. 10:12-18). The decline from the Biblical standard is so great, that this method must be deemed altogether unreliable. (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-8) Where are the God-fearing men of faith in these last days?
The only safeguard against the deceitful trickeries and omissions, which are sent to move you away from Jesus, is to know Him through the holy Scriptures. Exclusively through the written Word, and God the Holy Spirit, is the perfect image of the Divine going to be etched upon the heart of the fervent seeker. If one is going to intimately know Christ, he must peer at Him continually, through the window of His written Word. (See Jn. 5:39; James 1:25) Jesus said;
Friend, What know ye of Jesus, from the Bible? Who do you say that He is? Our Savior has chosen to reveal Himself exclusively through His words and He will only be learned through this account He gave us of Himself (Jude 3-4).
"According as his divine power hath given unto us ALL things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust...We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star (the image of Jesus Christ) arise in your hearts." (2 Peter 1:3-4, 19)
In His message to us, the Lord reveals Himself, that we may know Him in an ever-deepening way, by the Spirit. When His image is inscribed upon the canvas of our hearts through the impassioned study of His holy oracles, we will be drawn to and protected by Him, and consequently, not vulnerable to, but discerning, of the Satanic distortions at work in our midst (2Tim 3:16,17; Matt.5:6; 1 Pet. 2:2).
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15
